Allan E. O'Bryant

Head of International Markets and Operations

Allan E. O’Bryant is Executive Vice President and Head of International Markets and Operations for Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated. He is also a member of RGA’s Executive Council.

Prior to joining RGA in 2010, Allan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Yunzei Capital, L.L.C., a private equity firm based in both Seattle and Tokyo. He also served as a Senior Advisor to Lehman Brothers Inc. in Tokyo. Before then, he served as President of Aflac International Inc., Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Aflac, Inc., and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of several of Aflac’s international subsidiaries. Earlier in his career, he filled a variety of roles with KPMG Peat Marwick, and was a professor of Accounting and Finance at Sophia University in Tokyo.

Allan received a Masters of Accountancy degree from the Marriott School of Management, Brigham Young University, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting, also from Brigham Young University.

He is Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees for the American School in Japan, and a member of the board of directors for both Novinium Inc. and Access Technology Solutions Inc.

He also sits on, or is a member of: the Program on International Financial Systems at Harvard Law School; the President’s Leadership Council at Brigham Young University; the National Advisory Council of the Marriott
School at Brigham Young University; the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan; the Keizai Doyukai; and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
