Greig Woodring Elected Chairman of IIS Board of Directors
Woodring, who has served as IIS Chairman-Elect since January 2013, is succeeding Norman R. Sorensen, Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Principal International, who has served as Chairman of the IIS Board of Directors since 2010.
“On behalf of all members of our Board, I would like to congratulate Greig Woodring on his election to Chairman of the International Insurance Society, and give the fullest recognition to the tremendous value he has added to our organization over so many years,” Sorensen said. “His guidance and leadership will continue to enhance the IIS’s role as the premier global organization for the free exchange of values and ideas in the insurance industry.”
“I am honored to have been selected to serve as chair of this esteemed organization,” Woodring said. “Today’s fast-changing global economic environment requires the insurance industry to be actively engaged in a global exchange of ideas, and the IIS plays a critical enabling role. I look forward to working with other insurance leaders, regulators and scholars to further the IIS mission.”

“Greig has embraced and has already helped mold the Society's vision for the future,” said Michael J. Morrissey, IIS President and CEO. “2014 will be a particularly significant year for the IIS, and we are delighted and proud to have Greig take this leadership role.”
