Malaysian Life Reinsurance Group Berhad (MLRe) is a joint venture between RGA and members of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia. MLRe commenced business in 1997 and, after only ten years in the market, the company commands the largest reinsurance market share in Malaysia. Apart from its traditional market of Malaysian life insurers, MLRe has expanded its services to include assisting Takaful companies in Malaysia and other insurance companies in South East Asia (ASEAN). MLRe is the leader in Malaysia’s facultative life reinsurance market. The company’s primary strength is its strong, local presence and its knowledge of the Malaysian and ASEAN markets, backed by RGA’s expertise and resources.
