Medical evidence data collected from external information providers is intended to augment an underwriter's investigation and provide a more complete, accurate picture of an applicant’s current health. In many cases, evidence from providers such as Motor Vehicle Records, Medical Information Bureau, and prescription and lab data, allows underwriting decisions to be made without any need for an applicant to provide blood work.
AURA’s Evidence Framework links to all these electronic evidence providers. It requests and receives data automatically, and interfaces with the AURA Rules Engine.
The Evidence Framework can:
- Automatically generate a data request from the various providers
- Track the receipt of data from the providers
- Pass the data to the AURA Rules Engine for processing
AURA can generate decisions, case referrals, or other appropriate actions based on the evidence data.
Evidence Provider Connections
The Evidence Framework currently connects with the following providers:
- Paramed and Lab results data, provided by ExamOne
- Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) from individual state Departments of Motor Vehicles provided by iiX
- Medical Information and Insurance Activity Interface (IAI) data provided by the Medical Information Bureau
- Prescription data, provided by Ingenix
While the process of requesting and receiving data is similar across all evidence providers, there are some differences. For more information on these interfaces and AURA functionality, please contact your local RGA representative.
