History
RGA's U.S. Group Reinsurance operation was established in 1976 as part of Northwestern National Life Insurance Company of Minneapolis, which was later renamed ReliaStar Life Insurance Company of Minneapolis. This business became ING Reinsurance after ING's acquisition of ReliaStar in 2000 and was later acquired by RGA in January 2010.
