AD Carve Out
Carving out the accidental death aspect of Group and Individual Life insurance is an innovative strategy for managing risk post-9/11. In many instances, traditional group and individual life catastrophe covers are either unaffordable or have limitations unacceptable to many companies. An alternative offered by RGA U.S. Group Reinsurance is to manage your net retained exposure by carving out the accidental death risk while you keep the more predictable mortality risk, such as "death from sickness, disease, illness and natural causes."

Accidental Death Benefit coverage can be an important component for your individual life insurance products. Unfortunately, this added benefit comes with an added risk. The AD benefit's additional limit pay-outs increase overall exposure and portfolio volatility. RGA U.S. Group Reinsurance can significantly reduce this volatility and stabilize your bottom line. We offer an innovative structure under which you transfer all or part of your ADB risk to us.
Specialty AD&D
RGA's reinsurance of Specialty AD&D encompasses accidental death and dismemberment benefits provided in policies such as, but not limited to, Stand Alone AD&D, Business Travel Accident, Personal Accident and Sports Team or other Travel policies. Reinsurance can also be written to respond to AD&D losses arising out of modes of transportation such as Common Carrier, Air Flight and other Conveyance. In addition to the AD&D benefit, these policies may also provide other ancillary benefits.
