Mailing of Premium Payments to Aurora
Premium payments are due on the "Premium Due Date" noted on your Premium Bill. Your contract gives you a 31-day Grace Period. Please allow enough mailing time to ensure that your Premium payment arrives at our office before the end of the Grace Period. Also, carefully review your check for any errors or omissions.
Convenience of Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT)
If you are currently paying your premiums by mail, there is a convenient and faster way to pay them. You can have your premium paid monthly by Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) from your bank account to Aurora. Please call us toll-free at 1-800-265-2652, during regular hours of operation for more information about using EFT, including associated administrative charges. Download the Premium Billing Mode Election form to elect the EFT option.
General Processing of Requests/Forms
To provide timely responses to our customers, we process all requests in order of receipt whether they are faxed, mailed or phoned in to our offices. So, please send us your requests as early as possible to help avoid any unnecessary processing delays. Also, please make sure you check for any errors or omissions (especially when it comes to your policy number and all the necessary signatures) when sending in forms.
Convenience of Direct Deposit or EFT
If you are currently receiving benefit payments by mail, there is a safer and faster way to access your funds. You can have your benefit checks either directly deposited or electronically transferred (EFT) to your bank account. Simply download the Request for Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer form from our web site, print it, fill it out and mail it back to us.
Mailing of Benefit Checks
Benefit checks are mailed in advance of the due date in an attempt to ensure timely arrival. Please allow 3 days after the due date before requesting a replacement check. Many times the check is delayed in the mail and you will receive it shortly. Replacing a check may result in a further delay.
Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
The Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019 (SECURE Act) became law on December 20, 2019. The Secure Act made major changes to the RMD rules. If you reached the age of 70½ in 2019 the prior rule applies, and you must take your first RMD by April 1, 2020. If you reach age 70 ½ in 2020 or later you must take your first RMD by April 1 of the year after you reach 72. You should consult with your personal tax advisor for recommendations and guidance on this topic and for current IRS rules regarding RMDs.
