Comteco offers for the benefit of its partners an outpatient health microinsurance plan. The plan costs 45 Bolivians per month. The plan has access to a network of medical centers throughout the country. Customers can consult medical appointment through the free line 800-108820 and have their consultation in a virtual or face-to-face way.

Ghana

Zeepay, Enterprise Life Insurance partner to introduce beneficiary insurance. The Ghanaian Times, October 30, 2020.
Zeepay has announced a new partnership with Enterprise Life to provide beneficiary insurance, known as Zeemicro. Ghanaians living in the U.K. can now purchase insurance cover for natural death, accident, partial disablement, critical illness, and hospital cash income benefit for their beneficiaries when sending money home. Zeemicro offers GH¢5,000 in full cover and all claims will be paid instantly using mobile money.

India

WhatsApp to roll out health insurance and micro-pension products in India. Life Insurance International, December 18, 2020.
WhatsApp is set to launch health insurance and micro-pension products on its Indian platform. SBI General will pilot the launch of health insurance, and HDFC and PinBox Solutions will pilot micro-pension offerings.

Indonesia

Nippon Life targets low-income segment with microinsurance plans. Life Insurance International, October 22, 2020.
Nippon Life Insurance Co. will sell “micro” plans targeting low-income customers in Asia. The company will sell policies in Indonesia, and then expand to three more group companies in India, Thailand, and Myanmar. Nippon Life is aiming to issue at least 350,000 policies in the next five years.

Malaysia

FWD Takaful offers micro-takaful plan with FWD Kasih. Press release, October 9, 2020.
FWD Kasih is an online micro-Takaful plan. The plan requires a monthly contribution from RM2.031 a month for women and RM2.542 for men. The plan has an issue age of 19 until 54 years for those with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 per month. The plan covers the full sum upon death due to natural causes and total and permanent disability (TPD).

Pakistan

Through this program, services like general OPD, family planning, and maternity services can be availed at a considerably low amount in addition to free health insurance for women and their families.

Philippines

NTUC Income links up with Revolut for lifestyle partnership. Insurance Business, October 8, 2020.
Digital payments firm Revolut has partnered with NTUC Income’s micro-insurance platform, Snack, to incorporate flexible insurance offerings on Revolut's app. This will allow customers to purchase insurance coverage on Snack through bite-sized premiums of SG$0.30, SG$0.50, and SG$0.70, linked to daily lifestyle activities.

South Africa

OneSpark is a new local insurer that pays out more when you don’t claim. Hypertext News, November 13, 2020.
The Millionaire Funeral Plan offers R50,000 if a customer claims and R1 million cash if they don’t. The plan only costs 99 cents a day. The insurer also offers a University Wallet plan which pays out R250,000 if a customer doesn’t claim, with a daily payment of R3 required.
