Overview

RGA's Global Financial Solutions U.K. office provides tailored longevity, asset-intensive and financial reinsurance cover. Our financial strength makes RGA an ideal partner to support clients' capital management and investment aims. We have the expertise and experience to develop the right solution for each client and ensure smooth execution.

Building on the depth of our experience in the underwritten annuity market, RGA executed our first longevity swap in 2008. Since then, we have reinsured over £20 billion of U.K. longevity exposure, and RGA continues to be a leader in this area. In addition, RGA's asset-intensive, or funded, reinsurance offers attractive solutions for U.K. clients. Our team has significant experience in structuring and executing these transactions, with more than £3 billion of premium transferred to date.

RGA also works closely with our clients to identify areas where financial reinsurance may provide substantial capital benefits. Having executed our first Solvency II-specific financial reinsurance transaction in January 2016, RGA is well positioned to help clients address the challenges – and opportunities – Solvency II presents.
