Saint Louis University Honors Greig Woodring with 2015 International Visionary Award

ST. LOUIS, October 9, 2015 – Greig Woodring, President and Chief Executive Officer of Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA), was recognized Thursday evening by The Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business during its Annual International Business Awards. Woodring was honored with the 2015 International Visionary Award, which is presented annually to an individual who has substantially contributed to advancing the field of international business.

“We are delighted to see RGA’s successful worldwide operations, and are grateful for the support they provide to our international business academic and professional programs,” said Dr. Seung Kim, Director of the Boeing Institute of International Business in the John Cook School of Business at St. Louis University, and the Lorenzini Professor of International Business. “RGA’s corporate success and commitment to advancing the field of international business is possible only through committed leadership. Thus it was a simple decision for our awards committee to select Greig Woodring as the recipient of our 2015 International Visionary Award.”

“One of RGA’s core strengths is our ability to share new ideas, insights and solutions with our clients and the insurance industry, and it is an honor to be recognized for these efforts,” said Woodring. “As one of the world’s largest providers of life reinsurance, we look to strong, influential institutions such as Saint Louis University to provide the next generation of industry innovators and leaders.”

Under Woodring’s leadership, which spans more than three decades, RGA has become a multinational FORTUNE 300 company with annual revenue of nearly $11 billion. With global headquarters in St. Louis, RGA now has operations in 27 countries and serves clients in more than 80 countries.

Woodring is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science degree, also in mathematics, from the University of Illinois, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

The International Business Awards ceremony also honored two other prominent St. Louis-area business leaders. Joe Adorjan, the former President of Emerson Electric, and Denny Coleman, former CEO of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, received the Globalist and International Service awards, respectively.
