Alain Néemeh Elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association
ST. LOUIS, June 11, 2010 – Alain Néemeh, President and Chief Executive Officer of RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada (RGA Canada), has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc. (CLHIA), a voluntary association whose member companies account for 99 percent of Canada’s life and health insurance business.
Néemeh has been a member of the CLHIA Board for one year. He has served as Chairman Elect (2009-2010), as Chair of the Board's Standing Committee on Government Relations (2009-2010), as Chair of the Reinsurance Committee (2008-2010) and as a member of the Standing Committees on Resources (2008-2010) and Quebec Affairs (2006-2010).
Néemeh joined RGA Canada in 1997. Initially responsible for the finance area, he was named Chief Financial Officer in 1998 and Executive Vice President, Operations in 2001. In 2006, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Néemeh is also a member of the Executive Committee of Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated, RGA Canada’s parent company.
Néemeh is a graduate of McGill University and a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec. He is a member of Loyola High School’s Board of Governors, an advisory board to the High School, and a supporter of Centraide in Montreal.
