Dr. Amy Zhao is Executive Director, Regional Underwriting & Business Solutions, where she
oversees the RGA product framework and underwriting best practices in China and Taiwan.
Her role focuses on refining underwriting rules, conducting audits, supporting product
development, and driving operational excellence across the region.
With over 20 years of experience in underwriting and medical practice, Amy has worked
across both direct insurers and reinsurers in mainland China and Hong Kong. She has held
senior positions at Manulife Hong Kong, Munich Re Hong Kong, and China Life (Overseas). She
began her career as a neurosurgeon.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Clinical Medicine from Capital University of Medical Sciences and is
credentialed with FLMI and FALU designations.
