Michelle Privett

Michelle Privett is Vice President, Education and Training, U.S. Underwriting, at RGA. She leads a team of expert trainers who educate underwriters at all levels, from beginning to highly seasoned experts. Her areas of expertise include underwriting innovations, facultative risk management, and medical and non-medical traditional and accelerated underwriting guidelines.

Prior to joining RGA, Michelle led Illuminate! Consulting, an Omaha-based underwriting consulting firm serving insurtechs and insurers, and served as Assistant Vice President at Munich Re, responsible for leading underwriting risk management for contestable death claims, underwriting manuals, and audits. Earlier in her career, Michelle led efforts to create and maintain operational excellence in life underwriting risk management controls, governance, education, and audits as Director of Quality Risk Control and Training at Allianz Life of North America.
 
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from West Virginia University and a Master's degree in nursing - risk management from North Park University . She is a Registered Professional Nurse and serves as Contributing Editor to On the Risk, the Journal of the Academy of Life Underwriting (ALU).
