Nathan Berggoetz is Senior Vice President, U.S. Individual Health, at Reinsurance Group of America (RGA). He leads RGA’s U.S. Individual Health business, providing reinsurance solutions to the eldercare insurance market and helping clients navigate the complex challenges of long-term care (LTC) risk management.
Since joining RGA in 2022, Nathan has played a key role in advancing the company’s Individual Health business through strategic growth initiatives, innovative reinsurance solutions, and enhanced actuarial governance. He led pricing for RGA’s first asset-intensive in-force LTC transactions and serves as a trusted technical advisor to clients evaluating both new business and in-force reinsurance opportunities. Nathan also partners closely with insurers on product development and assumption-setting, helping them better understand and respond to emerging trends in the LTC market.
Before joining RGA, Nathan spent 14 years with Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he advised insurers on long-term care, Medicare Supplement, group disability, mergers and acquisitions, actuarial modernization, and financial reporting. Throughout his consulting career, he led large, multidisciplinary teams and helped clients address complex business, risk, and regulatory challenges.
An active contributor to the insurance industry, Nathan serves on the Society of Actuaries Long-Term Care Experience Study Committee, co-chaired the Actuarial & Finance Track for the Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance Conference (ILTCI), and is a member of the ACLI Long-Term Care Insurance Committee.
Nathan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy ofActuaries. He earned a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science and mathematical economics from Ball State University.
