Rich Buckanavage is a Managing Director of RGA’s Private Debt & Equity group, which manages a diverse portfolio of direct subordinated debt, equity, and fund investments across the middle market and lower middle market. Rich is a senior investment professional with more than two decades of experience crafting and executing strategic investments in the private debt and equity markets.
Before joining RGA in February 2024, Rich served as the Chief Investment Officer at the Assurance Capital, LLC, a Florida-based private investment platform that managed a credit fund and a control entity focused on the lower middle market across a variety of industry sectors. He also founded and led two publicly traded companies: Harvest Capital Credit Corporation, a specialty finance company targeting senior and mezzanine investments in lower middle market companies in all sectors, and Patriot Capital Funding, which provided debt and minority equity investments to lower middle market companies. Rich also previously served as a Managing Director for GE Capital Corp’s capital markets division, and held various origination and portfolio management roles at Bank of America
Rich earned a B.S. in Finance from Central Connecticut State University. He obtained an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
