As Chief Operating Officer of RGA Japan, Robert Beattie brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the life insurance and financial services industry, with a focus on operational excellence, transformational initiatives, and long-term value creation.
Before joining RGA in June 2025, Robert served as CEO and Representative Director of FNZ Japan. He led the Japan market strategy for a global wealth management platform, where he was responsible for establishing local operations and developing the firm’s go-to-market approach. He previously held senior leadership roles at NN Life/ING and Manulife, overseeing key functions including claims, underwriting, valuation, and technology. Throughout his career, Robert has led major modernization initiatives and has a deep understanding of the regulatory environment, operational standards, and quality assurance practices of the Japanese insurance market.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and an MBA from McGill University.
