Shundrawn A. Thomas is a professional investor and corporate executive with more than 27 years of experience within the world’s leading financial services institutions. He is Founder and Managing Partner of The Copia Group (TCG), a private investment firm which provides capital solutions for lower middle market companies and drives social impact through the power of scalable businesses.

Prior to launching TCG, Shundrawn served as President of Northern Trust Asset Management, a leading global investment manager with then $1.3 trillion in assets under management and served as a member of the executive management group at Northern Trust Corporation. His executive roles included Head of FlexShares ETFs, President of Northern Trust Securities, and Head of Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Shundrawn worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley in their sales, trading, and research divisions.

Shundrawn’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting is from Florida A&M University and his M.B.A. is from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a trustee for the Financial Accounting Foundation, for Rush University, and for Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. In 2020, Shundrawn was recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America and in 2017 by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the 300 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America. He was also a member of ThinkAdvisor’s 2021 class of industry luminaries, and InvestmentNews honored him in the same year with its lifetime achievement award for leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Shundrawn was named to RGA’s Board in 2021.
