Steve Simchak serves as Head of Washington Office of the Reinsurance Group of America (RGA). In that role, he leads RGA's federal public policy and government relations efforts and chairs RGA’s Federal Political Action Committee (PAC). He previously served at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA), at the Coalition of Services Industries, and in the offices of Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA) and Congressman Bill Shuster (R-PA).
He is an advisor to the US Government’s delegation to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on insurance issues and previously served as an appointed advisor to the US Department of State, US Trade Representative (USTR), and US Department of Commerce in the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations.
He has a Bachelor of Arts with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from Trinity College, a Master of Science with Merit from the London School of Economics, and a Juris Doctor cum laude and Certificate in World Trade Organization Studies from Georgetown University. He lives with his wife and two children in Washington, DC.
