Eugenio Andreoni

Growing up in a small town in the province of Varese, Italy, Eugenio Andreoni faced unique difficulties due to his Down Syndrome, but has never let his condition become an obstacle to achieving his dreams.

After completing high school, he attended vocational training in Milan and has worked for RGA Italy for more than five “wonderful” years as a junior office assistant.

Eugenio attributes his success to the kindness and generosity of others: “The most important thing was to find people – family, teachers, educators, co-workers, friends – who believed in me and helped me overcome the many difficulties I encountered in growing up.”

Diversity enriches. When you create an environment that is welcoming to everyone, you create a workplace that improves us all.”

His working experiences have also opened up a new world of personal and professional growth. An avid traveler, skier, diver, cook, music lover, and theatergoer, Eugenio is endlessly curious and open to new experiences, but perhaps his favorite adventure involves going to work each day. Why? He so values the feeling of belonging he receives from being part of the RGA team and the respect and acceptance shown by his colleagues. “Above all, I am happy to have a job. It is really important for me to get up every morning and go to the office. I feel part of an active world, involved in a project alongside other people and part of a team.”

“From all these experiences, I’ve learned how to share work with colleagues. To work well together you must listen and be able to accept feedback. I also learned that having rules at work such as adhering to working hours, being respectful, and having the desire to learn is fundamental. For my own future, I see myself having a job, a family, and my own home, just like everyone else. I can do everything!”

On the importance of a having diverse culture within organizations, Eugenio comments: “Diversity enriches. When you create an environment that is welcoming to everyone, you create a workplace that improves us all.”
