David Addison leads North American business development for the Global Financial Solutions (GFS) unit of RGA, with a focus on financial, interest-sensitive and structured reinsurance programs in the annuity, life and health markets.
In addition to these responsibilities, at various times, David has been responsible for sales of structured products in RGA’s Asia Pacific segment and led sales for RGA’s captive solutions team. He currently works in conjunction with RGA’s Healthcare Reinsurance Division to develop additional opportunities.
David has worked in the insurance and reinsurance industry for more than 25 years, joining RGA in 1999. Before joining RGA, David was Director, Strategic Development for a New York domiciled life insurer, where he participated in evaluating and closing strategic merger and acquisition opportunities. He has also been a consultant for one of the major actuarial consulting firms out of their Milwaukee office, and he started his career as an actuary for a small life insurer in Minnesota.
David received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree (with honors) in statistics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in Great Britain, and his M.B.A. (with honors) from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). David has served on the Reinsurance Section Council and has been a frequent speaker at industry and regulatory meetings, in North America, Asia, and Europe.
