As Senior Vice President and Chief Risk and Strategy Officer, Dominic Hains is responsible for overseeing the development, definition, and delivery of RGA Canada’s business strategy. In collaboration with Canadian and global teams, Dominic identifies market trends and customer needs, and helps determine the best course of action to deliver growth for all lines of business. He is also responsible for RGA Canada’s risk exposure, ensuring that proper identification, monitoring, and management of risks is in place, and for overseeing the Information Technology function and the Project Management Office. He has been in his current role since 2021.
Dominic joined RGA Canada in 2000 and during his tenure has assumed roles of increasing responsibility across multiple functions and geographies. He has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for RGA Canada, and as Senior Vice President and CFO for RGA’s Asian operations, based in Hong Kong.
Dominic received his Bachelor of Science in actuarial science from Laval University. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
