Mark Brooks is Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, of Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA). He leads the strategic direction of the company’s information technology resources and the management of RGA’s global information technology operations. Mark is highly experienced in organizational change, digital transformation, and core platform and data analytics modernization.
Mark joined RGA in 2023 from Centene, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Transformation Officer for the St. Louis-based Fortune 100 company. In that role, he was responsible for all technology for a $145 billion healthcare enterprise and led a team of 4,000 employees and several thousand contractors. While at Centene, Mark was an executive sponsor for ABILITY, an employee inclusion group whose mission is to support and bring awareness to employees with disabilities, as well as employees who are caregivers to those with disabilities, so that everyone can reach their full potential in the workplace.
Prior to Centene, Mark had a long career at California health insurer Health Net, Inc., holding a variety of positions, including Director of Web Development, Vice President of Applications Development, and Chief Technology Officer. Mark started his career at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he gained valuable experience in each phase of the systems development lifecycle and built knowledge in foundational technologies such as enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management and web services. Mark also served in several roles at Veritas (Symantec Software), including taking on responsibility for the company’s online strategy, sales, and marketing automation solutions.
Mark serves on the board of directors for VSP Vision, a private vision insurance company. He also serves on the board of directors for LaunchCode, a St. Louis nonprofit offering free technology education and job placement opportunities to bring people from all backgrounds into the technology field. Previously, Mark was an adjunct instructor at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, preparing master’s-level students from around the world to step up as the next generation of technology leaders.
Mark obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics and communications from the University of California, Davis. He earned an MBA from UC Davis’ Graduate School of Management.
