When a leading insurer wanted to offer meaningful protection for people over 50, it faced a challenge: how to deliver care that keeps up with life.

Together with RGA, the team launched a critical illness product with fixed premiums, added home care, and coverage that lasts to age 100.

The Problem

A serious illness can disrupt every part of life, from income to daily care. Many people face these moments without enough financial support, especially when public or employer coverage falls short. Recovery often brings new costs and more challenges with fewer resources, leaving individuals and families exposed to risk. Seniors, in particular, face added barriers, as entry age limits and other age-related restrictions can make it significantly harder for them to access coverage when they need it most. 


The Solution

 

RGA supported the creation of a simplified issue critical illness product offering from the ground up. While the client was exploring senior-focused solutions, we introduced a concept we had been developing independently; a simplified issue critical illness product offering coverage for serious illnesses up to the age of 100, with enrollment available between ages 50 and 75. The product has fixed monthly premiums and offers at-home care services like doctor visits and physiotherapy. 

Once finalized, we presented it to the client, who asked us to adapt it to fit their bancassurance sales model. The result: a product designed with a constant premium and decreasing capital tailored to meet both client needs and market demand.
