
The use of information from social networks has been a frequently debated topic in the insurance industry. Underwriters are asking, with increasing frequency, whether the Internet’s vast reach now makes it a valid information resource for applicants’ vocations, vacations, and avocations. Underwriters should take a case by case approach, weighing information against his or her experienced judgment.
